Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  This is the beginning of Dad's story.   On Saturday, January 7th at about 7pm, Dad was at home and had the signs of an apparent stroke.  He was brought to the ER in Monte by ambulance and had a CT scan and they confirmed it was a stroke.   He was then air lifted to North Memorial Hospital in the Cities.  He was given the drug TPA upon arrival in hopes of reversing the effects of the stroke.  Currently he is able to lift his left leg, but he has very slurred speech, trouble swallowing and cannot move his left arm.  He was unable to complete the MRI d/t his Claustrophobia, so they are planning a CT Scan in the morning.  Tomorrow he will see physical therapy and speech therapy and hopefully we will have a better picture of his condition.  Thank you all for your prayers, love and support.  It means the world to Dawn,  Dusty and myself.  Just and FYI on a lighter note...Dad still has his sense of humor.  When Dawn and I arrived at the hospital, Dad asked us where he was.. We said "North Memorial in Mpls" and he replied with "Am I gonna get shot"?  LOL,  only Dad.   We will keep everyone updated when we are informed on his condition.
