Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On Feb 2, 2017, Bob suffered a hemorrhagic stroke.  After several CT scans and consultation with Neurologist and Neurosurgeon, Bob underwent surgery for 2 hrs to remove the blood pool and relieve the pressure on his brain.  He was in ICU for 9 days during which time he also received a tracheostomy and was on a ventilator.   After getting off the ventilator, he was stable and left ICU but remained in Bellin Hospital for another two weeks.   The next step was to relocate from the hospital to a long term acute care facility.  However, Green Bay does not have such an offering that accepts trach patients so Bob was transported by Brown County Rescue to LifeCare Hospital in Pewaukee on Friday, Feb 24.  He is only now beginning to occasionally open his eyes for a few minutes.   Bob will have a long difficult recovery ahead but if I know my husband, he will push forward with all the strength and determination possible to regain his life.  We will once again enjoy his great smile and sense of humor.  I could not have asked for more support from our beautiful blended family.  Bob & I are truly blessed.  We will face the challenge ahead with God guiding the way. Thank you all for your prayers and support...there are no words to really express how much it means.   Arleen
