Welcome to Bob's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Please click the orange "my story" to find out what brought Bob to Meriter........

Bob had been feeling ill for a few days with a variety of flu-like symptoms. Colleen, his daughter, was monitoring him closely. Yesterday, she went to check on him and he was doing "not too good" and was having trouble breathing. He stated that he hadn't slept in awhile and his back was sore. Upon asking more questions, Colleen decided to call the ambulance. Bob was not happy with this but went along for the ride. Bob was transported to Meriter. He was dehydrated and his digestive system was off kilter, and he was admitted. Bob was intubated and put on a ventilator, given fluids and  underwent surgery last night at 5:30. Surgeons opened his abdomen up, and discovered that his intestines were not healthy. Nothing was done surgically, and he was closed back up. He was given lots of fluids with the hope that his intestines would perk up. Bob is scheduled for surgery on 12/25 at 10:00 AM to see how things were doing after fluids and rest.

We will be keeping everyone updated as we get more info. They will appear through "journal" entries. Please keep Bob in your thoughts and prayers!
