As most of you know Bob was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma last October.  In the last year he has gone through weekly injections, weekly IV's, stem cell collection and a second attempt at stem cell collection.  We now have arrived at the point of transplanting the stem cells back.  He received a mega dose of chemo yesterday and will receive another today.  Thursday, Sept 15 will be the day to transplant the stem cells back.  The end goal is to keep him in remission for many years to come.  Bob is at Jewish Hospital until Friday, Sept 16.  After Friday we will begin daily visits to the hospital.  His immune system will be wiped out with his white cell count dropping to 0.0.  He will not be able to receive visitors or food .  This house arrest will last for 30 to 60 days and then limited contact as his immune system slowly heals.   I will have an open front porch if anyone wants to stop by and talk to me.  In this electronic age, Bob is available on face time.  Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
