At the end of January 2016, Bob was unexpectedly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to his liver. After being accepted into a Memorial Sloan Kettering clinical trial through the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, in Februrary we began oral and infusion chemotherapy treatments. While there is no "cure" for pancreatic cancer, the goals of treatment are to increase the number of good days and to contribute to cancer research. More than ever, we appreciate our friends and family and we welcome you to be a part of our lives and our support team during this very meaningful time.

Julie's son Brad will be posting these messages on Alex and Julie's behalf (edited ever-so-slightly for clarity and above all humor).
