After discovering two tumors in 2013 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, a team of surgeons did a preliminary surgery to attempt to remove one of the masses that was taking up most of Billy's sinus cavity. They were not able to remove a good portion of the mass which over the past few years has continued to grow and cause even more symptoms. In the midst of monitoring this tumor, a team of Neurosurgeons from the Mayo and from The University of Minnesota Hospital grew concerned after watching the other tumor expand as well. This other tumor we now know is a cancerous glioma in the frontal lobe of Billy's brain. Anyone who talks to Billy will hear him immediately say, "Well that explains a lot!" While humor is certainly a great healing tool we certainly don't minimize the seriousness of the tumors that now have caused a lot of pain and symptoms for months.
Those who know Billy well, know that he won't go down without a fight. Please continue to pray for the Sanderson family as they embrace upcoming brain surgeries and subsequent treatments. Also pray for the medical teams, as you can imagine there are a lot of people involved with these extensive procedures. And please consider a donation to help offset the enormous costs associated with the upcoming surgeries, therapy, medications and new treatments. You can go to:
