As you may know, Bill was diagnosed with kidney disease 7 years ago.  He was scheduled to run a marathon and decided to see his doctor to make sure he was fit enough to do so.  To our surprise, blood tests showed that he had some undiagnosed health issues.  After the marathon (yes, he still did it) further testing determined that his kidneys were failing.  After many tests and biopsies and other crazy things, no cause was ever found.  As far as anyone can tell, some sort of event (infection, injury, etc) caused the kidneys to decline.


Medications have helped him maintain until March of last  year.  Since then we've been searching for a donor.  Luckily his brother Jim is a match! Next Wednesday, January 30 will find us all at Froedtert Hospital in very capable hands, waiting for the magic to happen.  I'll keep you all updated via this site.
