AN UNPLANNED JOURNEY: Those who know us know how much we love adventure and especially travel journeys that have taken us around the world several times. Bill especially has enjoyed putting all of the plans together, coordinating all of the logistics to make sure everything went smoothly, and it usually did. Our most recent big travel adventure to Europe in 2015 included coordinating traveling almost entirely by train, arranging for apartment rentals in several of the cities we visited and everything went off without a major glitch, and we had an amazing adventure together. Now we find ourselves on an unplanned journey, as a chest x-ray taken while we were spending the winter in Alabama showed a suspicious mass in Bill's right lung. Further tests indicated a potential malignancy, so Bill contacted the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida where that was confirmed. Bill is being treated at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, where the plan is to begin chemotherapy on Thursday, March 9. Although this journey was unplanned and not especially welcome, we know we are not on this journey alone, for we know that God will be with us every step of the way. As we seek his comfort and guidance, we are being blessed with the peace and grace that can only come from God. Now we invite you to join us on this unplanned journey. This journey won't be as much fun as that, but nevertheless, it's a journey we are on.
