Welcome Back prayer warriors...... I would sure love to connect with all you wonderful people in ways other than Caring Bridge but for now this is where we meet again. We need to ask for the powers of your prayers once more. As many of you know Bill and Kath were on a trip they have been planning all year with their friends the Nick and Michelene Radulovich to Europe. Unfortunately my Dad suffered a stroke while in Budva Montenegro on about day 9 of the trip. He is in the hospital near Kotor. Joe was with them the week before and went back to Amsterdam but was able to get right back there as soon as it happened. Luckily Nick and Michelene speak the language and have family and friends there so they are making things happen and holding up Mom. The hospital was over an hour from where they had been staying so they found her an apartment right by the hospital so she can walk there with a room above for Joe. They are all in good hands and taking care of each other. Nick knows how to get things done and they are also very spiritual so supporting Mom and Dad that way as well. WE are all very grateful for them being by their side— gives us great comfort! Dad has left side paralysis for now but is beginning to move his foot and hand on command which is a good sign. The next steps are to get him strong and stable enough to get him back to the states. HIs next step is to get a damn golf club back in his hand! Good- set those goals Dad!!
We were able to do a conference call this am on speaker phone so we could all talk to him and he was alert and responsive and asking about St Thomas, Gophers and Vikings games :). The second scan confirmed it was a pretty big stroke BUT he is already responding in many positive ways— Yesterday when Mom told him he should be happy there is no WIFI because she can’t shop on Amazon he gave her a big half smile— today she said it seemed even fuller than yesterday! Mom sounded very positive this morning and said she is letting everyone take care of her!! Joe said “yea she hasn’t even sent me a card yet” lol!
We are so blessed with a great circle of strength and love. Even Jack (16) said to his mom walking out the door to school the day it happened, “Don’t worry Mom we are a circle of strength and love”. And we are and we are blessed by our big outer circle!!
Dad (like PJ) doesn't like attention but for now he isn't in charge of that :). For all the millions of people these two have prayed for, loved, cared for , time to be a wide receiver now big Papi . So if you could help us once again storm the heavens with prayers for the leader of our band we would be grateful. Our goal is to get him back to doing the Papa Dance as soon as possible!!! GO VIKINGS!
