Bill has had quite a medical mystery tour the past few years, but the year 2020 has been a bit more interesting than the typical 70's aging process. Bill was experiencing abdomen pain and there were a few potential causes. While testing for a source, he got an 'incidental finding' of pancreatic cancer on 10/21/20. We quickly identified the most experienced surgeon and arranged surgery within a week, one of the first of many blessings on this journey.
He had successful Whipple Surgery on 10/28, and is currently in the hospital recovering and hoping to be home soon. Chemotherapy, and potentially additional radiation, will occur in the near future but the doctor said they removed all the cancer which had not appeared to have spread to other organs.
It was definitely a shock to hear the dreaded word Cancer, but Bill is approaching this challenge with the determination to do whatever the doctors ask of him. He's always been a fun-loving person and his sense of humor is definitely helping him through this.
