Bill Gritton

On Monday morning, October 16th, Bill suffered an aortic dissection, where his aortic artery began bleed internally, putting pressure on his heart. Thankfully, he was home and able to reach and wake Cynthia before he collapsed.
Emergency services arrived and brought Bill to St. Vincent Hospital, one of the top cardiac hospitals in the country. They discovered a congenital birth defect in the aortic valve. During a 10 hour surgery, they repaired the valve and the effected arteries.
All of this has taken a toll on his body and the road to recovery will take time. He is under sedation and on machines to aid his body and help him rest so his body heals. He is under the excellent care of a team working to bring him along and is aptly named "Team Bill".
Even with sedation, Bill continues to be Bill. Via writing, he has requested iced tea, ice chips, told us to "keep in mind the room is cold" and attempted to get out of bed (he's not one to sit still).
We will continue to inform you as much as we can and as the updates come in. Thank you for the prayers! There is no way we could have made it this far without them. Continue to pray for his progress.
There are so many parts of this story that are truly miracles and we are so thankful to worship a generous and loving, healing God!

God Bless,
The Gritton Family
