Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. For right now, this site is being co-authored by Kirsten Hawley and Chelsea Barlow, nieces of John and Bill.  


Bill was admitted to the Holy Cross ER in Ft. Lauderdale earlier today. He was experiencing some symptoms that were unusual, and at the urging of a friend that is also a nurse, sought medical care. 


An MRI revealed legions in his brain that indicate cancer has spread from another location. The origin of the cancer is currently unknown. 


John shared that Bill is comfortable and in good spirits as they await a more definitive diagnosis. Right now, they hope to be released from Holy Cross so that care and treatment can be done at the Emory cancer center in Atlanta. 


Pat and Bob Hawley and Steve Barlow are on their way to the hospital today to support both John and Bill over the next few days as more information is learned from the oncologist.
