Monday, June 28th, John began showing signs of a stroke. We were at home and his left arm and leg was numb, speech was slurred. Paramedics took him in and he was admitted to the hospital for extensive testing. The stroke was found in the second round of testing, and the doctors called it a "Lucky Stroke," because it happened just at the brain stem and not anywhere else in the brain. This is a blessing because while it has a longer recovery, it doesn't affect your speech or brain functioning as bad.
