Sometimes God sends a row boat and says step in. Beverly has no pain and just some (age appropriate???) fatigue. That is until God presented her with such profound jaundice, she could no longer ignore it. After tests at both Butler Memorial Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital, she was diagnosed on July 7th with pancreatic cancer.
Through an amazing team of professionals including a PCP, Lutheran pastor, counselor, local oncologist, local nutritionist and the pancreas multi disciplinary clinic at Johns Hopkins; we are moving forward with treatment and hopefully surgery in Baltimore. At this time, we are waiting for Johns Hopkins to review her chart and to arrange a consult to begin initial treatment.
Until then, it is life as normal without any activity or exercise restrictions. Beverly loves to laugh. "Wicked gallows" sense of humor is much appreciated. Please call or text her and enjoy visiting. Beverly will continue to be on the organ bench at church on Sundays and will be preparing to play for choirs and students at Slippery Rock University, SRU, her day job.
