Betty Richardson Betty Richardson

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Betty, my mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  It's been about  27 years since her cancer first appeared.  She was first diagnosed in 1991, and then again in 1999 with invasive carcinoma. She's no stranger to chemo or radiation, so she's confident that she'll make it through this tough time.  She will be scheduled for at least six weeks of radiation, five days a week. Chemotherapy, has not been completely ruled out, but my mom is pretty adamant about not experiencing chemo again. She may change her mind after radiation, and if she does that means her treatment will be longer and more taxing on her body.

What I would like to ask of you, is that you help my family in getting her to and from her appointments. My brothers’ and I will not be able to take her to every appointment.  Thankfully, the American Cancer Society offers free rides to treatment, but in the event that she can't get on their schedule; I'd like to make sure that we're well prepared. I also felt that I needed to reach out to the community, family and friends, because we need all of the support we can get.  Feel; free to contact me if you have questions, concerns or would like to support in other ways!

If you think you can either donate your time for a ride, or donate money for an Uber/Lyft it would be greatly appreciated. I’ve set up a Gofundme, so that she can set up payment for a ride.

Thank you,

Chelsey
