Betty hasn't been feeling well for the past few months and after visiting the doctor in late October and running through multiple tests, they determined she had cancer. On November 18th, she underwent diagnostic surgery to determine the scope and severity of the cancer. At this point they have not confirmed the type or stage via pathology, but it appears to be ovarian cancer. She is starting on chemotherapy this week and her overall care plan will consist of weekly chemotherapy followed by surgery (in at least 8-10 weeks) which will then be followed by another round of chemotherapy.
We know that many people care about Betty and will want to know what is happening so they can help. We also know that Betty will have difficulty saying no and will want to keep everyone informed. We will use this site to try to keep everyone updated and limit how many times she needs to retell her story to allow her to focus on recovery.
