Betty was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2019. As I'm writing this, we are still uncertain what the near future holds with regard to treatment. We'll soon visit the oncologist to learn what her options are for treatment. What we do know is that the tumor in her lung is slightly larger than a golf ball and it's at least stage 3. The pathology report showed a large cell, squamous lung cancer. It is eating at her ribs as a direct extension of the tumor but it has also spread to her nearby lymph nodes. We are praying it has not spread any farther than this and hoping for successful treatment the leads to full remission.
