As some of you know, our mother had been diagnosed with lung cancer this past October. This diagnosis came as quite a surprise as she has no symptoms and has always kept herself very healthy. Because of medical testing that she had from thyroid issues, a spot on the lung had been detected from one of the scans.
Mom has been very fortunate of having positive tests results indicating the cancer has not spread to the brain or lymph nodes. However she is having surgery January 8th to remove the lower lobe of her lung. As of now, doctors are not anticipating that she will have to endure chemotherapy. We are praying for good news that the cancer is contained and the surgery will take care of it.
Mom would welcome any and all prayers and comforting words of positivity at this time. She will have her daughters with her during the surgery and recovery afterwards. We will also utilize Caringbridge for updates to keep family and friends posted!
Thank you in advance for your kind words and prayers!
