Betty was diagnosed with Uterine cancer in August of 2016.  She had surgery and recovered well.  All of the cancer was removed, but it was recommended that she have chemotherapy and radiation in order to prevent microscopic spread.  She is currently receiving chemotherapy every three weeks, and just had her third cycle on Wednesday the 19th of October.  Side effects of body aches and neuropathy seem to be most prevalent on days 3 - 10 following treatment.  With each cycle of chemotherapy, she has become increasingly equipped to deal with the side effects and her strength and desire to be well help her to push through.  She has recently started acupuncture with Dr. Weihua Wang
and has found this to be extremely helpful in her healing process.  She continues to follow a very healthy diet and finds that "Eat Local" allows her to maintain this lifestyle without having to exert a lot of effort.  Here you will find updates on Betty, as well as possible ways to support her.  There are links above in the "Ways to Help" section, if you are interested in doing so.  Keep in mind that if you choose to help Betty with "Eat Local", gift cards are the way to go, as delivery/drop off is difficult to manage.
