Welcome to Betty Believes. We've created this Caring Bridge site to keep friends and family updated. Over the past few months, we heard the word nobody ever wants to hear..."Cancer". Betty had a biopsy in February that confirmed she has a secondary neuroendocrine tumor. In March, a PET scan showed a mass in her colon with affected lymph nodes. She traveled to Seattle from California for a second opinions from UW Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Their recommendation is she have surgery to remove the mass and also to determine the type of cancer. On April 18, she will have surgery at UW Medical Center. So, the journey begins.
