On March the 2nd of 2017, my mother began her fight against this horrible disease!  It was on this date that Mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and the whirlwind of emotions began for all of us.  The uncertainty of not knowing the severity and the number of tests and doctors visits to come before we would know anything was a very trying period.  Today, July the 22nd, we have started this page because after 6 rounds of chemotherapy, it is finally time for surgery on Thursday July the 27th!  We have chosen to use this website as a way to keep each of you updated. After the surgery, Rita will be in ICU for 24 hours and after she is released from ICU she will have at least 6 more days in the hospital.  Obviously with the seriousness of the surgery and the importance of Rita getting the best possible care and ample amounts of rest, we (the family) have decided to utilize Caring Bridge as a way to communicate the ongoing process after surgery.  We know that you will be praying and only looking out for Rita's well being but please respect our decision in this moment.  It is our intent to keep this website updated with the most up to date information in the first few days as all of our time and energy will and should be focused on getting Mom better.  We will show her all of the responses that anybody posts here so do not hesitate to share your love and prayers.  God Bless!
