Bette Ashmore Bette Ashmore update site

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
As Hank and Bette's only child, I am honored to manage this site. Mom's journey into vascular dementia started with her stroke several years ago, but in recent weeks her condition has spiraled. Mom is home at Sherrill Hills under Hospice care. She and Dad are happy to be together at the apartment (309) with the constant care of the most amazing team of private caregivers we could ever ask for. Sometimes she hallucinates and gets agitated; sometimes she's groggy or sleeping a lot. But there are plenty of great moments when she recognizes us..............converses............enjoys visits and flowers and of course, CHOCOLATE. Mom gets much pleasure from having the Bible read to her, especially Psalms. Dad is so devoted to her, and we are urging him to continue doing normal things such as playing bean bag baseball, golfing, and going to the dining room where so many residents and staff surround him with caring. I will update this page regularly, perhaps every day or two, so that their many loved ones can get the latest reports and leave notes for them in the guest book. Blessings to all of you!

- 3 ( “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
