As Hank and Bette's only child, I am honored to manage this site. Mom's journey into vascular dementia started with her stroke several years ago, but in recent weeks her condition has spiraled. Mom is home at Sherrill Hills under Hospice care. She and Dad are happy to be together at the apartment (309) with the constant care of the most amazing team of private caregivers we could ever ask for. Sometimes she hallucinates and gets agitated; sometimes she's groggy or sleeping a lot. But there are plenty of great moments when she recognizes us..............converses............enjoys visits and flowers and of course, CHOCOLATE. Mom gets much pleasure from having the Bible read to her, especially Psalms. Dad is so devoted to her, and we are urging him to continue doing normal things such as playing bean bag baseball, golfing, and going to the dining room where so many residents and staff surround him with caring. I will update this page regularly, perhaps every day or two, so that their many loved ones can get the latest reports and leave notes for them in the guest book. Blessings to all of you!
