Dear friends and family,

Thank you for visiting this site. Many of you are aware of my current medical condition, but there are many of you visiting this site for the first time that are only learning of my current medical news now. Please know that I only invited you to this page because I wanted you to know. This isn't something I wanted to broadly post on Facebook but I wanted to let you know.

Back in March I was having very bad abdominal pain causing a visit to the ER. After running various tests, it was determined that I had a large complex ovarian cyst on one of my ovaries. After several follow up doctor's appointments, it was determined that I needed to have surgery to remove the cyst, which was very large. On May 24, 2017, I had to have a radical hysterectomy and debulking by one of Palm Beach's BEST Gynecology Oncology surgeons. The surgery removed the tumor, appendix, and several lymph nodes which were sent for pathology to test for cancer.

Well, it totally SUCKS to say this but I've since received those results and it's been determined that I have Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. Although I'm still recovering from my surgery, I've been seeing an oncologist close to home who will facilitate my upcoming chemotherapy which I start at the end of June. I'm very pleased with this doctor and she is referring me to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa for another opinion and treatment plan evaluation.

I'm so sorry to communicate this upsetting news to you in this way, but please know it was becoming difficult to keep up with the constant updates for everyone who I know care for me immensely. I know everyone wants to help me in some capacity, to know how I'm doing, and just talk to me. Trust me when I say......I FEEL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT AND I APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. It's comforting to me as well as my family to know how much I'm loved, overwhelming actually.

The purpose of this site is to allow James or I to post a quick update for those who want to see what's happening and be kept in the loop. Everyone always asks "How can I help" and honestly right now I'm okay. Between my loving husband, mom, aunt, kids, brother and sister in law, mother and father in law and many extended family members, and close friends, I've got every need met (at the moment). I'm sure things will change as I start chemo, but I'll update my needs as I learn what they even are.  I'm a fighter so this cancer picked the wrong chick to mess with!!!!

Thank you for visiting this page. Also please note, the link to make a donation to Caring Bridge is to Caring Bridge, not me.  I'm NOT asking for donations and didn't want that link to be misunderstood.
