On December 28, Beth and Jon welcomed beautiful baby Eddie into the world. Shortly after, they were diagnosed with Covid. Beth’s symptoms progressed to pneumonia and on January 7, she was admitted to the hospital. On January 12, she was moved to the ICU and the fight for her life began. She was placed on a ventilator in a medically induced coma and a day later, transferred to Bethesda North to begin ECMO treatment. We understand it to be a miracle from God that she was able to get an ECMO bed so quickly. Beth was later transferred to Ohio State Medical Center where on March 7th, she received a double lung transplant (another miracle!). After 6 long months away from her 3 kids, Beth finally came home on June 18th! Beth is working hard at regaining her physical strength/abilities and the Papin family is adjusting to the changes that come with being a transplant recipient family. Full recovery is a long road, but Beth is a fighter and we believe the miracles will keep on coming! This incredible village has been with us every step of the way and we could not be more grateful for the kindness and blessings we have received. For those of you looking for ways to continue helping /supporting the Papin family, here are some ideas:
- Pray: For Beth’s complete healing and emotional well-being as she adjusts to this situation; for Jon that he may maintain strength; for their beautiful children Julia, Jimmy, and Eddie; for the Schwarz family; for all those who love Beth and her family; for the wisdom of the medical personnel guiding Beth's recovery.
