On May 23, 2016, Beth went to the Dr to have a cough looked at that she had for over a month. The Dr ran a CBC and found that her white blood count was 166,000 and platelets at 1,076,000. The next day, she saw an oncologist who ran more blood work and confirmed that her WBC was even higher at 181,000 and platelets at 1,115,000. The oncologist in Alexandria suspected Chronic Myloid Leukemia. On May 25th, Beth had a bone marrow biopsy done and it was determined that she does in fact have Chronic Myloid Leukemia in stage 1.
