Bernie's family is already experiencing an overwhelming outpouring of love and support, and at this time, it isn’t possible to respond to everyone’s concerned inquiries directly. Bernie began experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 31st and was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night, April 1st. He has been experiencing all of the classic symptoms of this illness and is being monitored carefully by the hospital staff. On Saturday evening, April 4th, he was transferred to the ICU and put on a ventilator. His test results for coronavirus just came back today, April 5th, and he has tested positive for COVID-19. Because this epidemic requires extreme measures for everyone’s safety, no one is allowed to be with him, which is very difficult for Leslie and his entire family. We are grateful that Bernie's condition was addressed quickly and that he is receiving attentive medical care. Leslie had a few days of experiencing mild symptoms herself, but thankfully is now feeling fine.
