As some of you already know, I was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
I am thrilled and moved by all your outpouring of concern and compassion. As things are happening at a rapid pace, I am having a hard time keeping up with the correspondence.
My dear friend Liz has volunteered to set up and manage an account on the wonderful nonprofit Website “CaringBridge.”  CaringBridge was created specifically for patients going thru a health crisis to help them and their families stay in touch and updated.

Hi,
My name is Liz and I will be managing this website for Bernard. I plan on posting regular updates on his health condition, and posting requests for care-giving support from friends that live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bernard will begin 4 rounds of Chemotherapy over a 2 month period starting Tuesday July 24, 2018 with the goal of shrinking the tumor before surgery. The next step will be a CT scan of the tumor to determine if the chemo will need adjustments or if the tumor will be surgically removed.

If you check the box in the upper right corner of the photograph labeled: “FOLLOW SITE”, you will then be able to post messages to Bernard and will receive email notification whenever a new update is posted.

Bernard will need rides to/from the hospital, meals prepared at times, shopping, and general support. If you are local and wanting to offer your help, please make sure to reply through the website for efficient coordination.
