Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Sunday morning at 2am I woke up to the sound of choking. I jumped up immediately and suctioned Bentlee for 15 minutes getting handfuls of stringy mucous out of his lungs. I started vest and Neb treatments every four hours day and night right away. He got worse pretty quickly I knew I wasn't gonna be able to keep up with it.
I brought Bentlee into Sanford ER Monday morning at 10. We sat in the ER for 5 hours doing labs, IV, xrays before we were admitted and moved up to 9th floor. Childrens floor.
Bentlees xray looked ok, but he sounded really full. We did a nose swab and results werent until the next day. He tested positive for RSV and I knew we were in for a rocky road then.
Follow up xray the next day it showed the RSV all in his lungs.
Bentlee continued to get worse with his breathing, respirations into the 80's for quite a while, spiking high temps and top right lung collapse. Bentlee went from just a nose cannula oxygen to 12L oxygen 60% blended flow which is max setting and that wasnt enough support for him. We are now in ICU on a constant CPap face mask going on 20 hours so far keeping his lungs open and full of oxygen. Trying to keep him as comfortable as possible with Ativan, Ibuprofen & Tylenol.
I created this sight just to keep our family and friends informed and just ask for your prayers & kind words. Thanks so much
