After a weekend in Texas, Ben was headed home from the airport when he became nauseous. After entering onto I-35, he had to pull over and ended up vomiting blood on the side of the road. An ER visit turned into a hospital stay. After an endoscopic procedure it was determined he had a cancerous tumor at the junction of his esophagus and stomach. After further testing is was diagnosed as stage 2 esphogeal adenocarinoma. He will be at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis while he receives 6 weeks of aggressive chemo and radiation treatments. Following a successful treatment surgery will be needed to remove the tumor.
