Benjamin was diagnosed with hepatablastoma (liver cancer) May 13, 2009. I don't know if I have EVER been so scared. Dr. Saccente talked about chemo, side effects, possible time lines. It is all a blur.
Fast forward to August 29 - he has done better than I EVER thought was possible. He has grown several inches and GAINED weight! Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. Two more cycles of chemo will follow. He still has to adjust to hearing aids (side effect of chemo), but seems to be on the road to recovery in a very short time!
