Hi everyone so a little bit about Benjamin wefound out at our 20 week ultrasound that he has a congenital heart defect called pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect. Basically it means that he has a hole in the bottom of his heart and no pulmonary valve or pulmonary artery.  Learning this diagnosis was very difficult especially when you have had 5 healthy pregnancies prior and one twin is healthy. I was able to have wonderful prenatal care through Aurora and the Fetal concerns program at Children’s hospital to monitor our twins closely. Well about 38 weeks pregnant I went into labor and our twins were born. Henry Michael was 6#11oz and Benjamin William was 5#3oz. Henry is doing great and has no heart defect. Benjamin was transferred to the NICU for close monitoring and care and will eventually require a full repair of his heart. This will take time because he needs to get bigger before the surgery. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Love Mike and Cathy Foster
