Ben is 16 years old and a junior at Northern Guilford HS.  Ben was in a bad car wreck on Thursday night. He has 3 fractures on his left leg, a fractured right patella, fractured right wrist, bruised lungs, a chest tube inserted, his spleen removed, and a brain injury.  Basically, hurt from head to toe. He was in surgery from 730pm that Thursday until 1230am on Friday. Admitted into the ICU , he has been sedated and on a ventilator since then. Lots of tubes. We do occasionally wake him up but he is in a lot of pain. Some of the times, while he is awake, he will respond to commands to give us thumbs up, nod his head, open eyes, squeeze hands, etc. He is sedated most of the time, but he is not alone. Never alone. He is surrounded by family, friends, nurses, and doctors that love him so very much. Most importantly, he has the presence of God's Holy Spirit, the Great Healer in his heart. Ben is covered in prayer. We can feel them surround and fill him. Miracles have been asked for and miracles have been seen. Ben and his family cannot thank you enough for the support and Love that has been displayed and freely given to him. Ben is in a fight, a fight against a strong adversary, but he has hope and lots of backup with your prayers and a stronger Friend. As the Angel of the Lord told Gideon, "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.". Ben is a warrior and the Lord and His mighty praying army is with him.
