On September 14th, 2017  Ben was diagnosised  with cancer at the base of his tongue/ left throat.  It is just as everyone  always thinks REALLY, this  doesn't happen to us.  As we all know cancer is non discriminating, Ben has never been a smoker, but now he is faced with the challenge to battle the C word.  It has taken a bit of time to share this with our family and now Ben is ready to make others aware of his current situation.  On September 20th Ben had his first appointment at The James Cancer Center, OSU Hospital.  His cancer has a 90% cure rate and a spread rate markedly less at 4%.  At this time Bens pet scan has  ruled out any other disease  than what is currently diagnosed. The standard of care for this particular Cancer is Radiation of 35 treatments  and chemotherapy  to be determined 
pending  further testing and results of surgical biopsy completed 10/2/17. Thank you for your kind thought, prayers and support as we journal his road to recovery.
