Benjamin (8) and Levi (4) were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in June 2016. Benjamin had not met some of his growth and developmental milestones as expected, so had been under the care of multiple therapists - speech, OT and PT. During the summer of 2016 we remarked to the PT that his walking did not seem to be getting better. This led to tests and eventually the diagnosis of Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. This debilitating progressive muscular disorder robs many boys of their ability to walk by age 12. The degeneration eventually becomes widespread leading to heart failure, respiratory failure and eventually death, often in the 20's. There is no cure.
Shortly after Ben's diagnosis we had Levi tested and learned he had the same disorder. I thought lightning never strikes in the same place twice.
We created this site (with the strong encouragement and assistance from a friend) principally to communicate with our friends and family so they can know how and when to pray for us and with us. None of these events were a surprise to Jesus. So, we cling to him, knowing that the answers and comfort we seek will be received under his watchful eye.
