Ben Abercrombie is a fine young man who played football for Hoover High School.  Of course it was his dream to play football at the next level.  Ben worked very hard and was offered an academic scholarship to Harvard University and be a part of the Harvard Crimson Football Team.  Ben was playing in his first collegiate football game on Saturday, September 16, 2017, Harvard vs. Rhode Island.  He was making a tackle on the sideline when he fell to the ground and did not get up.  Ben sustained a very serious neck injury.  He was rushed to the hospital in Providence Rhode Island.  He had emergency surgery to repair a fracture and get the pressure off his spinal cord.  Ben is currently on ventilator and has no feeling in his arms and legs but we are hopeful that will change and improve everyday as he heals.  He is a very strong young man and I have no doubt he will come back!!
