Welcome to my CaringBridge Website. It is being used to keep family and friends updated in one place.

My story was quite normal until my mom’s pregnancy was complicated by PPROM (preterm premature rupture of the membranes). This means that the amniotic membrane surrounding me broke, which brought an increased risk for infection to my mom. Therefore my mom was hospitalized at Providence Hospital when she was only 24 weeks. PProm before 37 weeks also made me more prone to a large number of complications. During the time before I was born, my mom received steroids to try to help my lungs develop more rapidly and was put on strict bed rest. The doctors were hoping that I would not be born until at least the 26th week but I did not quite cooperate and was born at 25 weeks and 5 days.

Not only did I come early but I also made my mom have a Caesarean section because I was in the breech position. My dad and sister were visiting at the time and I am told that my sister Halie became quite upset when the doctors started getting my mom ready for the c-section. However, my Dad quickly handled the situation. Dad states that I was a bit feisty when delivered and tried my best to keep the doctor from inserting tubes and the like. But I am quite little so the doctor was successful in hooking me up to the life-saving devices that I need so that I can be fed, monitored, and etc. Thus far I am doing OK and continue my development in an incubator, surrounded by equipment, flashing lights, and beeping monitors.

Such is my life at the moment.

Please continue to visit my website and read the journal to follow my progress and growth. Be assured that my parents and extended family appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

Thank you for visiting.
