I appreciate all the support, cards, and calls I have received as I am beginning this journey.
My friend Mary Beth was kind enough to set up this site so I can keep everyone up-to-date on my condition and treatment. I have Small Cell Neuroendocrine Cervical Cancer, Stage IIB. This is a very rare cancer of the cervix, approximately 1% of the cervical cancer diagnosed is this type of cancer. This is a very agressive cancer that is prone to recur. I got a little chuckle when reading the pathology report from the the Mayo Clinic...one of their statements to my Doctor was "Thank you so much for presenting us with such an interesting case." I am glad I could provide interest to the Dr.s at the Mayo Clinic.
Thank you again for your care and support, I am sure I am going to need it as I go through these treatments to beat this ugly disease.
