On December 1, I went in for a routine mammogram. The doctor wanted more images of an area. Those revealed something of concern. Immediately had an ultrasound and it was confirmed, there was an area that appeared highly suspicious. A breast biopsy was scheduled the following week. Pathology report came back 2 business days later & it was malignant & invasive (ability to go elsewhere). We met with a surgeon to discuss treatment options the following day. The only treatment option was surgery. We then met with a plastic surgeon to discuss reconstruction the following day. The cancer profile report came back & the good news is I don't have to have chemo before surgery takes place. I've decided to have a bi-lateral mastectomy with implant reconstruction. My surgery is scheduled for December 27 (which happens to be our 41st wedding anniversary). I'm asking for prayers 1) That the cancer has not spread. 2) For my healing, recovery & adjustment. 3) For Bill, Benjamin & Susan, Brandy & Noah, my parents, Kathy & Rick & Darrell. Also Nancy & Robert, Greg & Cheri.  It won't be an easy recovery as I had a total knee revision replacement 3 months ago & am still trying to bounce back. Through all of this, the Lord has been near & giving us peace with each decision. We have a great God.
