Becky Ferguson Team Ferguson

First post: Nov 18, 2018 Latest post: Jun 3, 2021
November 15th seems to be a hard day for our family. On November 15th, 2011, Dave and Dreana were rear ended by a drunk driver, which resulted in spinal and wrist damage for Dave and a traumatic brain injury and spinal damage for Dreana. Dave needed multiple surgeries and has since been unable to work, while Dreana spent her senior year of high school re-learning how to walk, talk, read, write, learn, and remember things. Since then, our family has adjusted, with Becky working two jobs to complement Dave's small disability check. Becky works overnight as a cashier at Wegmans, and substitute teaches at the primary school during the day.

November 15th, 2018, our world was shaken again when Becky was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer, found in her breast as well as axillary lymph nodes. We're still processing this information and what it will mean for our family. Right now, we don't have details about treatment yet, other than that it will probably involve a total mastectomy (possibly double mastectomy) and chemo.

We've created this page to keep our family and friends updated, since it has become a bit draining to text the same information over and over. We're hoping that this page will help us to all stay organized and updated so that we can best appreciate your support and keep you in the loop. Welcome to Team Ferguson, name chosen by Becky, because we're all in this together.
