Becki Pastor

Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I will using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  This will help my family as well as myself to focus on the tasks at have in my current health journey.

As many of you may know I began a health journey that started back in December of 2015 with pneumonia.  From that, I began the arduous process of being qualified for and getting weight loss surgery.  During all the varied testing that was required to become eligible for a gastric sleeve surgery, it was determined that not only was I severely anemic but had numerous vitamin deficiencies and sleep apnea requiring a CPAP machine.

Within 1 week of using the CPAP machine, in the beginning of June 2016, I ended up in the ER with severe joint pain all over my body.  By September of 2016 and, again with numerous tests and specialists, I was diagnosed with psioratic arthritis, an autoimmune disease.  In the meantime, I'd had a routine (or so I thought) mammogram that suddenly became a bilateral ultrasound.  One week before I was scheduled to have weight loss surgery I discovered I had stage 2 breast cancer.

I had my weight loss surgery after my medical team consulted with one another two days after I'd had my first lupron infusion.  I began the lupron infusions along with another hormone suppressing medication in order that the cancer not spread while I was recovering from surgery.

I had a partial mastectomy in one breast and lumpectomy of the benign tumor
