Under WAYS TO HELP we have started a MEAL TRAIN where you can sign up for help by preparing a meal, donating a gift card, or contributing a monetary donation. Caring Bridge is a free website that is funded by donations. Please feel free to support this wonderful site by making a TRIBUTE in Becca's honor. Finally, we ask that you take a moment to add a WELL WISH for Becca. Thank you for visiting her site.

HERE IS HER STORY:
Just prior to the 4th of July, Becca started experiencing symptoms of what she believed was a kidney stone as she has had them in the past. She was referred to a urologist for follow up.  She was sent for a CAT scan of the abdomen and pelvis on Friday July 10th. That morning, she woke with an ache or soreness in her left collar bone. The pain got progressively worse throughout the day. I took her to the emergency room, but due to COVID, I was not able to stay with her. Roughly 2 hours later, she called with the news that her lab work was indicative of leukemia and they were admitting her for further evaluation.  Saturday morning,  after consults with specialists,  it was confirmed, she has leukemia. Within 2 hours, we were transported downtown to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. They sent her here due to her age,  because the adolescent young adult population respond well when treated as pediatric patient.
What a whirlwind it has been.  The response from our family and friends has been incredible! Your love and support is much appreciated. This will be a long journey, roughly 2 years for full treatment. Your continued support will be so helpful. Please feel free to send messages and post your favorite pictures of, or with  Becca.  Your support and words of encouragement will be a key factor in maintaining our strength and hope.   Please feel free to share the link.
