On Friday, June 24, 2022, Becca was in a severe boating accident while traveling abroad in Nice, France. She sustained life-threatening injuries to both lower legs, was rescued from the water, and a surgeon on board applied tourniquets while the boat traveled to shore to meet EMT. She was then transferred to the local university hospital and underwent a 4+ hour emergent orthopedic and vascular surgery. She is now stable and currently being monitored in a trauma ICU in France. She has had her best friend, Grace, and her father by her side. Her injuries are extensive. Once home, she will be admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for a comprehensive assessment of wound care, vascular, trauma ortho, physical therapy, and psychological therapy to develop a longer-term care plan.
