Many have asked me what prompted me to seek medical attention. The short version is I thought I might possibly have a bladder or UTI infection. Since I've never had one I wasn't sure. I did have some sharp shooting pains but the most annoying systom was urine leakage when turningy body while standing or bending over to the my shoes. Plus it started suddenly. Upon a pelvic exam from my GP she recommended a pelvic ultrasound since she felt my uterus seemed unusually large. Two days the ultrasound showed cysts on my ovaries. I was referred to my gynecologist who recommended a CA-125 test which is a tumor marker. Of course, I researched all these medical terms on the internet but rest assured I used the Mayo clinic website for answers.
