Bea is amazing! Unfortunately, cancer isn't and it's  hanging out in her body. She was diagnosed in April of 2019 with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. Doctors were relatively unconcerned as this is a common type  of cancer and has a pretty clear treatment regimen. Results from chemo and radiation are good. Of course, when you are 81, your body responds differently. Bea managed her chemo and radiation well and was a total trooper. Unfortunately, at the end of December, a CT scan indicated that her cancer was back, with several affected lymph nodes in her chest, abdomen, back and neck. So we begin a new journey of treatment, all with the attitude of one step at a time. Mom has good health, a positive attitude, and nearby family on her side. All three daughters live  in Seattle, and while many of the grandkids are off at college and beyond, the daughters and spouses are able to provide love, support, transportation and most of all, much needed humor and coffee runs. Feel free to follow along- who knows how often we will update - but we will try. Also, mom LOVES snail mail. If you get a chance to send her a note (LARGE PRINT...her eyes have "seen" better days), that would lift her spirits!
