This page has been created to inform friends and family of Trevin and Taylor Harris of  baby Barrett's congenital heart defect. We would like this space to be a place where you can leave comments, send well wishes and leave notes of encouragement. However, we do ask that you use this source as your outlet and request that you kindly respect the privacy of Trevin and Taylor by reaching out here ONLY.

Barrett Mitchell Harris was born Friday June 19th 2020 at 6:58am weighing 8lbs 2 oz and coming in at 20 inches long.

However, Barrett's story doesn't begin the day he was born, rather it starts with an ultrasound that revealed he had a heart defect that was eventually diagnosed as Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia and MAPCAS. This very long and complicated name means that the heart has five anomalies, which Boston Children's Hospital lists as: (1) Ventricular septal defect (2) overriding aorta (3) thickened right ventricle (4) complete pulmonary obstruction and (5) abnormal pulmonary arteries. Due to the severity and rarity of Barrett's diagnosis Trevin and Taylor made the decision to deliver at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California as this is where the doctors and surgeons who specialize in the condition are located. During their stay at Stanford Trevin, Taylor and Barrett have been in many different wards, including the NICU immediately after Barrett was born and currently the CVICU, where he awaits his surgery.  Barrett's open heart surgery has been re- scheduled for Wednesday August 12th, 2020 and this will likely be the first of many.
