Throughout April, Barney was having difficulty eating and was sleeping a great deal. After a couple Dr visits thinking it might be heart related, he went back to Abbott the week after Easter. The doctors at Abbott did a scan and found that he has lesions on his liver and upon further testing it was determined that Barney has stage-4 Esophageal cancer.
