After a month of feeling short of breath and more tired than usual, Barb went to the doctor on September 30, 2016. After a full battery of tests she was diagnosed with Extensive Small Cell Lung Cancer one week later on October 7th.
On October 10th, Barb's daughter Ali brought her to the ER because she was really short of breath and understandably anxious about her diagnosis. She spent that week at the University of Minnesota Medical Center receiving the best possible care - getting tests (and more tests.) She started chemotherapy October 11th.
