Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated.
BARB WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT AND WORDS OF HOPE, ENCOURAGEMENT....OR A LAUGH, DURING THIS TIME WHEN IT MATTERS MOST

In December 2015, David Westenberger started a website to share information and to reach out on Barbara's behalf.  He posted with GoFundMe.com.
By using this address you can offer any further support to help Barbara:   https://www.gofundme.com/gtbtktrm
He shared the following information:

Barbara Westenberger, has been diagnosed with brain cancer. After just a few weeks of symptoms including delayed speech and affected motor skills, our mom discovered on November 17th that she had a brain tumor and quickly underwent surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia on November 25th. There, doctors removed the largest of three Grade 4 glioblastoma multiformes.  Two of the tumors were inoperable because of the location within the brain. Barbara spent Thanksgiving, in the hospital recovering and was able to return to her home to heal before any treatment plans were discussed.
Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form of brain tumors, and Barbara will have significant trials ahead of her. Like many people experiencing an unexpected medical emergency, she will not be able to work throughout her continued treatment and recovery. In 3-4 weeks she will begin radiation to attempt to kill the current tumors and prevent regrowth.
Our mother can use all of the strength and support she can get right now. As a single mother of 3 boys her focus in life has always been on us, her children. Despite many obstacles and challenges she went through caring for us on her own and we never went without. Now, the doting and extremely proud grandmother of 3 boys, ages 1, 5 and 8, we want to help make finances the least of her worries as she focuses on treatment.
It is a helpless feeling seeing the woman who was the pillar of support and strength for us so sick and in need. Her future is very uncertain. Please help shine the light of kindness on our mom by making a donation of any amount if you can. And if you can’t, we completely understand.

Please just keep her in your prayers as she fights the hardest battle of her life.

From the bottom our hearts, thank you for any support you can give. We are hopeful and eternally grateful!

Dave, Eric and Tim Westenberger
