Barbara Rigby

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As some of you may know Barbara was diagnosed with stage one triple negative breast cancer in 2013. She underwent the recommended lumpectomy, infusion chemotherapy and radiation and completed her treatment in 2014. Unfortunately she has now been diagnosed with estrogen based breast cancer. She will be undergoing a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgeries and along with chemotherapy. She will not know the stage of the cancer and if the chemotherapy will be infusion or pill based until her breast tissue is removed and tested.

Barbara has two grown daughters (Allyson and Ashliegh) both of whom live out of town with their families and two younger sons (Jake and Blake).  Allyson and Ashleigh will be unable to be with her throughout her entire recovery from her double mastectomy. This would leave the majority of the "cooking" up to Jake and Blake, but Barbara would probably like to eat something other than pizza and chicken fingers for the next few weeks. If you are able, please sign up to bring the family a meal over the next few weeks.

The family is grateful for any and all help. Please keep Barbara, her doctors and care givers in your prayers. This is just the beginning of this journey.
