Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I am using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. I appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

The story begins with finding a lump in my right breast the week before Christmas. A lot of anxiety over the holiday, as the sonogram showed a highly suspicious mass, and I was scheduled for a biopsy the week after Christmas. The diagnosis of triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma came the day before New Year’s Eve. The next week I met with an oncologist and a surgeon. Both assured me that it is curable, but will be treated aggressively because it is an aggressive tumor

The following week I had a central venous port put in, had genetic testing and counseling, and got a 2nd opinion at Hopkins. I decided to stick with team at Mercy who have all been fabulous.
